So after you have found your website niche, it is time to move on to the next step i.e. Domain Name Registration. So an obvious questions pop's up "What is a Domain Name?"
Well a domain name is nothing but name or an address you choose for your website, so that your users and the entire world can go to you website by simply typing http://www.your-domain-name.com in their web browser. <!>
So it like your postal address from the website, except that it just has one name field only. No two websites can have the same domain name, so your domain name is as unique as you. Isn't that simple enough.
Let's quickly look at the parts of domain name, its made of 3 parts.
http://www. - this just says to the web browser to use Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (http) to open an Internet Address in the World Wide Web(www) , something that you always start with in your web browser.
your-domain-name - This is your unique website name e.g. this website's name is "createwebsite4you"
.com - This is the last part of domain name, normally has a 3 or 4 letter word like .com, or .org or .net etc. Each of this suffix has meaning and generally represent what kind of website is it.
.com - normally represent commerce based website.
.org - normally represent an organization.
.net - normally represent a network and so on.
These are not hard and fast rules, but generally helps the visitor to understand what is the purpose of the website?
