iOS 5 is here with lots of features and about 1500 new API waiting to be explored by us (developers). You guys ready? Check out the below ones and let me know which one is your favorite.
Here is quick preview of features:
1. Notification Center
New and improved notification center, help you see you notifications right away even when phone is locked just like Andorid and with stop on the annoying pop ups that make the experience undesirable.
A virtual newsstands interface is built into iOS5 just like the iBooks but this one if for Magazine & Periodical Subscriptions.
3. Twitter Integration
Twitter integration built right into and everywhere. Now you can tweet about your photos directly to Twitter from your camera, videos from YouTube App and pages from Safari very quickly.
4. Revamped Safari
The new Safari will allow you to
reformat a site on the fly, taking out ads and reformatting text so it
looks better on your iPad or iPhone screen making non mobile friendly sites more enjoyable. It would also support Tab along with a Reading List concept (Save page offline for reading).
5. Reminder App
This new Reminders app makes it easy to make to-do lists and will remind you as you go since it would be location aware. It will also synchronize reminders between iOS 5 devices and your Mac
OS X desktop or notebook
6. New Camera and Photo Editing Features
New features like launch camera without unlocking, use the volume button as the shutter button. Some photo editing tools like sharpen, red eye reduction, cropping etc.
7. Over Air Updates
The iOS devices will no longer need a PC to update the software, all would be done incrementally over the air.
8. Revised Game Center
Lot of features like Support for turn-based, game discovery, achievement points and more.
9. Revised Mail App
The mail app would now support Rich Text Formatting, Indentation, draggable email address, message flag and more...
10. New Messaging System
Its called the iMessage. It will work between all iOS 5 devices, allowing you to leave conversations on your iPhone and continue them in your iPad.
For me the Notification Center updates , Twitter integration (if you do a lot) is and OTA (tired of it asking to upgrade on sync) will really make it more enjoyable. What's your take on this?
